Abraham Hostel

Last weekend Raz and I went to Jerusalem for a birthday party where we were introduced to a friend of a friend who's husband is the co-owner of Abraham Hostel.

Being friends, and friends of friends, they offered to give us a tour of the hostel before we left town and I can't tell you how impressed I was. I've never seen a hostel like this before, all a travelers needs are not only met, but exceeded. If I had come across a hostel like this in any of the cities I've enjoyed traveling to, it would have been a great temptation to book a few extra nights to further enjoy not only the city, but to enjoy staying in a place with such great accommodations and good energy.  Here I think it's a good time to mention, no one is paying me to say these nice things, I'm genuinely excited about this place and want to share it with anyone thinking of spending time in Jerusalem.

The hostel's web site has all the information you could need, but just for a rundown:

Free Wifi
Free Breakfast
Free walking tour of the city
Washer and dryer

numerous sleeping accommodations, everything from mixed dorms with 4-10 beds, a female only dorm, private rooms for single, double, or trio of travelers, and Family rooms.

every room has it's own shower/bathroom along with additional bathrooms down the hall so you shouldn't have to delay your day waiting in line for a shower. there's lockers in each room (one for every bed) and each bed has a reading light and electrical plug next to it. the rooms are spacious and clean, newly renovated, they really look lovely. The private rooms even have mini-fridge's in them... pretty nifty.

the common areas are beautiful. everything is new, there's a bar, a kitchen, a quiet room, TV area where they show movies sometimes, lots of comfy chairs and couches and hammocks. Really, it's a travelers paradise.

On top of all the lovely things about this place, the prices are very reasonable. If you're planning a trip to Jerusalem, I would check out this hostel, it's tops!
